German Wehrpass grouping Ukraine, VWA black and silver, EK2

Interesting small Wehrmacht Heer Infanterie-Regiment 116 grouping belonging to Johann Steets.
The set includes his Wehrpass, Wehrpass cover, discharge papers, a detailed combat report document, and two documents related to his Wound Badge in Black (VWA in Schwarz).

Steets was stationed in France for three months. In 1941, he was sent to Ukraine, where he saw heavy combat, was wounded, and received the Wound Badge in Black. (See the Schlacht- und Gefechtsbezeichnungen document). He was wounded again in 1942, for which he was awarded the Wound Badge in Silver and the Iron Cross Second Class.
Looking at the Ausmusterungsschein (discharge papers), he was discharged. Probably due to his injuries.




Interessante Wehrmacht Heer Infanterie-Regiment 116 wehrpass set, toebehorend aan Johann Steets.
De set bestaat uit zijn Wehrpass, Wehrpass-hoes, ontslagpapieren, een gedetailleerd gevechtsrapport, en twee documenten met betrekking tot zijn VWA in Schwarz.

Steets was drie maanden gestationeerd in Frankrijk. In 1941 werd hij naar Oekraïne gestuurd, waar hij hevige gevechten meemaakte, gewond raakte en de Verwundetenabzeichen in zwart ontving (zie het document Schlacht- und Gefechtsbezeichnungen).
In 1942 raakte hij opnieuw gewond, waarvoor hij de Verwundetenabzeichen in zilver en het IJzeren Kruis 2e Klasse kreeg.
Volgens het Ausmusterungsschein document werd hij ontslagen uit militaire dienst, vermoedelijk vanwege zijn verwondingen.
